A place where the land helps you listen

Join for Free

Just one mile as the crow flies from Enchanted Rock, Wild Heart Preserve encompasses 113 acres of mostly untouched Texas Hill Country land. Granite formations, native forest, a flowing creek, and rolling hills create space for retreat, renewal, and reconnection.

Rachael Love Fisher and her partner, Mark, found the land in 2020 while searching for a home for Wild Heart’s nature-based work. Through a series of unexpected encounters, they came into relationship with this remarkable place and named it Wild Heart Preserve.

The name honors Rachael’s mentor, Dr. Will Taegel, and his teaching about the Wild Heart Self, the part of us that remains connected to nature, knows how to listen, and remembers what is true. Sweet & Slow invites you to meet that part of yourself again.

Sweet & Slow grew from our shared belief that it becomes easier to rest when we can immerse ourselves in nature and allow someone else to tend to the logistics details.

Amber brings practices that help guests return to their bodies. Rachael brings an intimate relationship with the land and its rhythms. Together, we’ve created a gathering where nothing needs to be performed or accomplished. You can simply arrive, receive, and reconnect.

Faqs

what time is arrival & closing?

Arrive at 2 pm on Saturday to settle in and set up your space. On Sunday, we'll close the experience by 1 pm.

Where is wild heart preserve?

Wild Heart Preserve is about a 1.5-hour drive from San Antonio and a 2-hour drive from Austin. Fredericksburg is also about a 30-minute drive away and is home to many restaurants, local shops and Texas wine tasting. The specific location will be shared upon booking.

What are the physical requirements?

Unless an event is canceled due to unsafe weather conditions, we will always be meeting outdoors in (light) rain or shine. Hiking shoes or sneakers are necessary for the uneven terrain. We will also spend time around a campfire. Please wear clothing based on the weather.

What is the bathroom situation?

Guests in the private cabin or camper will have their own bathroom. For those camping or glamping, a shared restroom facility will be available. Guests will have access to one indoor restroom and a clean port-a-potty. Due to drought and well water, we ask that guests only shower if necessary.

what should I bring?

In addition to your camping gear and bedding, bring a backpack, journal, water bottle, sunscreen, hat, long pants, and hiking boots or shoes. A packing list will be provided.

do you accommodate dietary needs?

Yes, for each meal there will be vegan and gluten-free options available for those with allergies.

Can I bring alcohol or plant medicine?

In order to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, we ask that you do not bring any mind-altering substances to  Sweet & Slow.

what is your cancellation & transfer policy?

All registrations are final and nonrefundable. If you can’t attend, you may transfer your complete registration to another adult by October 21. Email Amber to coordinate the transfer. If the organizers cancel Sweet & Slow, you’ll receive a refund.

Will photos or videos be taken?

Some parts of Sweet & Slow may be photographed or recorded to share the experience and promote future gatherings. During registration, you’ll be asked whether you consent to appearing in identifiable images or video. If you opt out, we’ll honor your preference and take care not to feature you. No one will be asked to pose, give a testimonial, or speak on camera without separate permission.

Can I just buy a single-day ticket?

Sweet & Slow is a complete overnight experience, so single-day tickets are not available.

Do you have another question?
