Today’s post includes a quick weekly recap reflecting on how the last week has gone and sharing what was most significant. With just 10 days remaining in 100 Liminal Days and lots of extra activities for the holidays, I’m feeling excited about the new year ahead!

The Artist’s Way Week Fourteen Check-In
How many days this week did you do your Daily Pages? How was the experience?
I missed one day of Pages and also missed posting on the blog one day this week on a different day. Another one of my days, I only wrote about one page instead of two in my journal. Time has felt tight this week – especially because I’m hosting my family for our Christmas gathering today and the Zodiac Games submission is due today as well. My Pages reflected this anxiety about getting things done on time and feeling short on time, but I finally got through the bulk of my to-dos by Saturday, and today’s Pages were focused more on ideas for planning my 2026.
Did you do your Artist Date this week? What did you do? How did it feel?
Not this week. Em and I made a trip to San Angelo on the day I’d normally do my Artist Date.
Did you experience any synchronicity this week? What was it?
Truthfully, I didn’t notice any synchronicity this week. It was sort of magical to see a Peregrine Falcon grabbing some prey on the ground on our drive home from San Angelo. I also loved that Mom has started working through The Artist’s Way workbook I gave her and she talked about how she’s done some journaling.
Actually, something just came to mind. Em and I went to see the new Avatar movie on opening night at the IMAX at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. Before the film, there was this short vignette story about Stephen Harrigan, a contributing writer for Texas Monthly and the author of about a dozen fiction and non-fiction books. This little interview they shared was of Harrigan talking about how he became a writer. He shared his writing process and mentioned how he writes even if he doesn’t feel like it. As the 3-minute-or-so film played, I had tears rolling down my face. Then, Emily said, “that’s you, babe!” and I full-on cried for another minute. The Avatar movie was beautiful and moving as well, but that little snippet on Stephen Harrigan hit me deep.
Were there any other issues this week that you consider significant for your recovery? Describe them.
This week has had less time for reflection and my daily practices and my inner world has felt a little off-kilter, but it feels like I’m past the busiest times now and have been able to stabilize myself today. I dropped Em off at the airport this morning and she won’t be home again until late on Christmas Eve, so I’m a little sad about her missing family time. Today, I’ll still have a nice celebration with the rest of the family which I expect to be nourishing.
Let’s see what the last week and a half of 100 Liminal Days has in store for me!
